Miller Family Goals for 2016

I have found that unless I put stuff on paper or on a blog I have a hard time remembering and even keeping myself accountable. Because I need some sort of physical reminder I am posting our family goals for the 2016 year. Basically things that we the Miller family want to accomplish or do this year.

Picture
  • Overnight Camping Trip – We always do a trip down to my Grandpa Reid’s but this should be external to that trip. Somewhere we have never camped before can be local or further.
Picture
  • Act of Service or Charity – We want to do something as a family to help give back/help others. We are not sure to what capacity yet but I am sure Megan will find something fun and rewarding.

  • Family Garden/Plant – We live in some condos on the third floor so this might be a bit challenging. Basically we want to just plant something and watch it grow (keep it alive). I will be letting the kids decide what they want to do here.
Picture
  • Family Video – If you didn’t know Megan has been doing some YouTube videos. She is very passionate about getting herself out there. So we thought it would be fun to do a video together. Again we are not sure what this will entail but it should be a blast.

  • Family Science Project – So we will be doing some sort of project, doesn’t have to have all of the note taking just the project. I love science and my kids don’t really care for it (which is fineJ). I just want to do something fun with them that we can create and do together.

  • Family Trip – This can be anything, anywhere, anytime. Just a family trip somewhere to explore something new and have fun together.
I will continue to add to this list as we come up with more stuff. I will also update this page with the complete goals as we achieve them. Hopefully we can have something soon! In the mean time I have a question for anyone reading.

What do you do as a family that we could try? Let me know in the comments below and we may add it to the list!

Still Going to the Gym...

So far going to the gym has been tough but definitely worth it. I can start to feel my body getting use to going and getting use to the activity. I am also beginning to feel a ton better during the day when it comes to productivity and energy. I am also starting to see the benefits of going in the sense of muscle gain and shrinkage. This to go with this I am also starting to see a attitude change from "this is hard" to "I can do this" which is a great mental change.

I am also fortunate to have an amazing wife that not only supports me but challenges me. Not only when it comes to the gym but in all the aspects of my life. That would include this blog, I have been putting it off because of business and to be frank laziness. She has motivated and prompted that I get back on here and continue blogging to share my experiences and create a brand more myself. I truly have no one else to thank but her for continually kicking my ass into gear.
Lastly I wanted to put up some recognition to my daughter Vanessa. This week she won her school spelling bee. I would like to note that this was done on her own accord. She set her mind on it and practiced hard to make sure she could achieve it. To go with this her humbleness is almost staggering given her age and accomplishment.

Early Morning Gym

I have never hated the gym as much as I do at 5:30am in the morning. but I have found that this really helps me get going for the day. I have seen an increase in my productivity at work and at home. Not to mention it feels great not stressing about whether or not to go to the gym.

Usually my morning consists of taking creatine to help give energy before I leave. right when I get to the gym me and Megan stretch. from their we do some running/walking to get warmed up. After that we usually do some area specific weights to help build muscle. we also use this time to throw in some cross fit style excersizes. lastly we round everything off with some squats and ab excersizes.

Overall while I may hate waking up at 5:30am the benefits far out way the short term gain of staying in bed. I would also highly recommend this to anyone who is considering it. It really removes all excuses that come up during the day and just gets it done.

How and when do you excersize?
