Still Going to the Gym...

1/27/2015

So far going to the gym has been tough but definitely worth it. I can start to feel my body getting use to going and getting use to the activity. I am also beginning to feel a ton better during the day when it comes to productivity and energy. I am also starting to see the benefits of going in the sense of muscle gain and shrinkage. This to go with this I am also starting to see a attitude change from "this is hard" to "I can do this" which is a great mental change.

I am also fortunate to have an amazing wife that not only supports me but challenges me. Not only when it comes to the gym but in all the aspects of my life. That would include this blog, I have been putting it off because of business and to be frank laziness. She has motivated and prompted that I get back on here and continue blogging to share my experiences and create a brand more myself. I truly have no one else to thank but her for continually kicking my ass into gear.
Lastly I wanted to put up some recognition to my daughter Vanessa. This week she won her school spelling bee. I would like to note that this was done on her own accord. She set her mind on it and practiced hard to make sure she could achieve it. To go with this her humbleness is almost staggering given her age and accomplishment.

I have never hated the gym as much as I do at 5:30am in the morning. but I have found that this really helps me get going for the day. I have seen an increase in my productivity at work and at home. Not to mention it feels great not stressing about whether or not to go to the gym.

Usually my morning consists of taking creatine to help give energy before I leave. right when I get to the gym me and Megan stretch. from their we do some running/walking to get warmed up. After that we usually do some area specific weights to help build muscle. we also use this time to throw in some cross fit style excersizes. lastly we round everything off with some squats and ab excersizes.

Overall while I may hate waking up at 5:30am the benefits far out way the short term gain of staying in bed. I would also highly recommend this to anyone who is considering it. It really removes all excuses that come up during the day and just gets it done.

How and when do you excersize?

A New Year - A New Me!

I have always been a bigger guy and kid. I have tried a few times to lose weight and get thinner but have never truly succeeded. In all honesty it isn't the weight that bothers me it is purely the image. I am not overly self conscious as well which I feel is part of my issue. I also can always justify my lack of activity due to work or family even my flat out laziness. Throughout the past year I have hit an all-time big. I have to wear 4x shirts and at least size 46-48 jeans. Normally I would keep going but I have started noticing more and more how this is effecting not only myself but those around me. I have found I decline in the lightest activity when my kids ask I am also less outgoing with my wife. This has led me to the conclusion that something has to change and I am not looking to rearrange everything else in my life.

Life Changes and Rules 2015

After discussing this with my wife we have decided to make some major changes as a family. We have made some big changes to how we shop and work our weeks/nights. I must admit that my wife has been a huge motivator on this life-style change. She has kicked ass when it comes to not making excuses and simply doing what needs to be done. So being the man I am I cannot very well let her best me and have decided cut the bull-shit and just get it done.  Because of my new found slogan I have set a few rules that I will be perusing from here on out.
  • Absolutely NO Sugar (external of health supplements)
  • Gym Once Per Day
  • ONLY Water
  • NO Eating After 7pm
  • NO Second Helpings
  • Say Yes to Activities

Goals for 2015

To go with all of my new founds rules I have a few goals I am looking to achieve. These may seem overly simple but to be frank are exactly what I am looking for. Of course with anything I set new goals as I complete these but this is more of feeling and looking better than it is anything else for me.
  • Fit into 2x and 38-40 jeans.
  • Buy my First Suit by EOY.
  • Run 1 Mile w/o Stopping
  • Bench 150 lbs 15 times.

So there it is, bring it on 2015 so we can GET IT DONE
